Scratch Off: Funsies for Engagement

 This is a new tool I'm really excited about because I just see SOOOOO many possibilities with these stickers! Scratch-off stickers are a thing  - did you know?! You can grab them on Amazon alongside your colleagues and get super creative!

Here is a slide deck with some initial templates, but I can't wait to see what you come up with! Please go to FILE and MAKE A COPY so you can edit and create your own versions! The slide deck also tells you which stickers I've ordered, AND the original space I found this idea! 

From vocabulary tasks, to randomized groupings, to dividing up student roles within a group, to oracy prompts, AND MUCH MORE... you've got a few quick templates to get you started!

"I Need" Cards: Printables for Newcomers

At the beginning of the school year, I always encourage folks to prep a ton of these in anticipation of newcomer students that will arrive throughout the school year. Please note that this is one example of a template. You can open the templates, go to FILE and MAKE A COPY so that you can customize these to better fit your needs! This sample template I have ready is for English/Spanish newcomers . I Need Cards - please note that this template has the same tool but presented a few different ways. These are a tool that I reference in my proficiency snapshot tool for classoom & content teachers (a scaffold I'd recommend for level 1 students). My Coffee Shop Tools & Templates in Multiple Sizes!

 Yikes - it's been a while since I've posted here y'all- but I've been sharing these when I go into schools & districts or when I'm speaking at conferences, and educators have shared that they've been helpful! Woohoo! So it's time to get these on the blog.  First - let's chat about the purpose of these tools. Depends on what you're doing with them, but a few quick ideas:  *Reinforce vocabulary with visual cues *Provide stems/starters for students to support EXPRESSION of certain skills, academic language, or provide social cueing (through speaking, writing, or representing).
